Agudelo ready to leave MLS now

According to Taylor Twellman (on twitter as @TaylorTwellman) English club Stoke City have raised their bid for forward Juan Agudelo from a reported 400k to 750k to which MLS and New England Revolution have declined.

Multiple sources have told MLS Transfers that Juan is pleading with MLS to let him go but that the Revolution are keen on keeping him until the end of the season unless the price rises to something they deemed acceptable.

Officials from both Chivas USA and New York Red Bulls have put pressure on the league to sell the young forward as they would get a cut of the transfer fee.

More details to come.

Donovan will receive offer in next week

A source close to the situation in the LA Galaxy front office has said Landon Donovan is expected to receive an offer from Italian side Genoa in the next week. As stated by Chris Klein on ExtraTime Radio, the Galaxy have started preliminary talks with Donovan over a new contract. The source close to the situation has said that Donovan is in fact NOT looking at Dempsey type salary but is looking for a pay increase.

Although the offer from Genoa is to come, the salary is unknown. The source has said that the length of the contract will be between 2 and 3 years.

Interest abroad for Donovan heats up

Italian and Spanish sides after US legend signature

Recently in a Fox Sports 1 interview with Landon Donovan he said that he was getting some "interesting offers" from overseas.

Many articles and links to Donovan have come out saying Italian clubs such as Hellas Verona an AC Milan are interested.
A source close to LA Galaxy organization has confirmed that indeed an Italian team is interested, and that team is Genoa.

Genoa has only recently been on the tail of Donovan. Manager Fabio Liverani was told from a scout to watch the last few games of this years Gold Cup where he saw Landon play some of his best soccer in years. While no deal has been offered, Donovan's agent has held talks with President Enrico Preziosi in the past week.

The source also said that Donovan is flattered to be associated with a team of Milan's stature, but hasn't heard from them.

A source from Spain has suggested a La Liga side is also interested in the forward. More information on that in the coming days.

Louis Saha to MLS? Agudelo moving abroad?

Agudelo move could fuel Saha to MLS

As a follow up attempt to Clint Dempsey joining MLS a source close to the situation in New England is saying Mike Burns wants Louis Saha if the pieces fall into place over the next few days.

Rumors have gone wild in the recent month with strikers Saer Sene being linked with a move to France and United States international Juan Agudelo in talks with Stoke City. It looks like Sene will stay, but a move for Agudelo is still in the works.

As of late Sunday afternoon a source says Juan and his agent have not been in contact with anyone from Stoke since late last week and are waiting to hear back from the league office to see if a transfer fee has been agreed upon. Because Stoke know Juan will be out of contract in less than 4 months, they are trying to pay as little as possible, with a fee around $400,000 being kicked around.

If Agudelo moves to Stoke, expect New England Revs GM Mike Burns to pull the trigger on a deal for Louis Saha. The 34 year old striker has been without a club for more than a month as his contract at Italian side Lazio ended on July 1st. Talks with Saha began early last week and a source says the situation regarding Agudelo has been explained to Saha, who is seeking a long term contract. While the source did not disclose the information on prospective salary, we are assuming he would not take up a DP slot.

More information to come.

Dempsey to Sounders almost complete (UPDATE)

Update on the transfer of the summer in MLS

Via ESPN.com

Shocked? So are we. It seems from an ESPN report that indeed Clint Dempsey will join Seattle Sounders.

According to a source whom informed us yesterday that Dempsey was in talks with Seattle on Wednesday, Dempsey and Seattle Front Office started having talks of a return to MLS after a recent World Cup Qualifier in Seattle on June 11, 2013.

Talks turned serious this week when after scoring in a preseason game, Dempsey was told he would be a surplus to requirements at Tottenham by boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Source says that Dempsey had a "first choice" of where he wanted to go and that the club (Tottenham) wanted him where he'd be most comfortable.

It is unclear if Dempsey had other offers throughout Europe but it seems like his main priority was to head back home.

The source says the deal isn't finalized though. Dempsey and Sounders have already agreed to personal terms and are now waiting on word back from Tottenham to see if their bid is acceptable.

UPDATE 7:19 PM Source can confirm a transfer has been agreed upon. @BrainStraus  (twitter) confirms this as well. No word on what was paid.

Sources: New York shows interest in Dempsey while Sounders hold talks

Clint Dempsey has new found interest around MLS

This all started today with a tweet from Keith Cositgan, saying Seattle Sounders were interested in bring the US international back to the states. Turns out, there's some truth to it.

After reaching out to multiple sources, it seems the Sounders have made some contact.

Despite Sigi Schmid stating, "...there’s really nothing to it." regarding Dempsey, a source has told MLS Transfers that a contact in the Seattle organization made contact to Clint Dempsey's North American agent yesterday. Nothing besides preliminary talks to come back to America took place.

MLS Transfers has also found out from another source that New York Red Bulls were originally interested in Dempsey in the early months of the 2013 MLS season. A Front Office member reached out to a James Grant Sports Management associate, Dempsey's agency, but was told, "Dempsey had no interest in returning to MLS at this point in time".

Let's not forget, Dempsey also isn't the biggest fan of MLS. In the article, Ives Galarcep showcases Clint's frustrations. "Dempsey has been vocal about his unhappiness with his time in MLS. He has cited what he felt was mistreatment in terms of his contract and the league's handling of transfer opportunities when he was in the league."

Surely, more information will come out in the next few days. Stayed tuned.
